Expert network
Vietnam is not short of senior marketing talent. It is short of ways for a CEO to reach it.
Senior marketing capability in Vietnam sits inside corporations. A mid-market company wanting access has two options: hire, or use an agency — and the agency is not on their side. MWY is building a third.
Short answer
MWY is building a network of senior marketing experts working independently: each takes project work alongside their main job, is named publicly on their own profile, and commits in writing to take no commission from agencies or platforms. We prioritise people with more than ten years of experience who have carried real responsibility for a budget, and who are willing to say plainly when something should not be done.

Why a network rather than employees
Nobody is genuinely strong across all nine areas
Measurement, marketplaces, paid media, retention, martech — each is its own discipline. Anyone claiming all of them is usually deep enough in none to challenge the person actually doing the work.
The best people do not take full-time jobs at advisories
They hold good positions elsewhere. What they lack is not work; it is somewhere to apply their experience beyond their own employer without resigning.
The industry needs somewhere independent to stand
In Vietnam, almost all marketing advice comes from someone who will be paid to execute it. An independent network is something this market does not yet have.
Who we look for
Four criteria. The first three are readable from a CV; the fourth is what we actually select on.
More than ten years in the discipline
We favour people who have been through at least one hard cycle: a budget cut, a change of leadership, or a core channel that suddenly stopped working.
Real responsibility for a budget
Not advising the person who spends it, but signing it off and carrying the consequence. That is the difference between knowing the theory and knowing what a decision costs.
Experience at genuine scale
A corporation, a chain, a major brand, or an agency serving them. Scale matters because the problems MWY handles only appear when several parties are spending one budget.
Willing to say something should not be done
The hardest criterion, and the reason the form below has a written question. An advisor who cannot say no is just a more expensive agency.

What you get
Project work, not a full-time role
You keep your current job. MWY brings projects with a defined scope and deadline, and you accept or decline each one.
A profile in your own name
Approved experts get their own profile page on mwyconsulting.com under their real name, with articles if you want to write. It is your asset, not ours.
No selling
MWY finds the clients, negotiates and signs. You do the work you are good at.
Paid at advisory rates
Fees are set per project by scope and hours, agreed before work starts, and never tied to whether the engagement sells anything further.
Independence protected in writing
The no-commission commitment is a two-way contractual term. It protects your reputation exactly as it protects ours.
This is the stage where the first members are chosen
The network is being built now, and this is when the first people come into it. Joining at this point is not only about taking work — you help set how the network runs: what it takes on and what it turns down, how scope is divided, how independence is protected. MWY passes a project to an expert only once scope and fee are settled, so when work arrives it is work worth taking.
After you apply
Step 1
We read it
Every application is read by a person, not filtered automatically. You hear back within 10 working days, including if the answer is no.
Step 2
A 60-minute conversation
About one real situation you handled, and one MWY is facing. It runs both ways — you need to know what you would be attaching your name to.
Step 3
Verification
We check your experience with the references you provide, and screen for conflicts with MWY's existing clients.
Step 4
Sign the independence commitment
Until it is signed, the profile does not go on the site — that is enforced in the system, not by convention.
Apply
This form is longer than most, deliberately. We read every application closely, so we need enough to read.
Frequently asked questions
I have a full-time job. Does this conflict with my employer?
That is for you to check against your employment contract, and we will not advise you to work around it. MWY does not take on clients that directly compete with your employer if you raise it up front — that is exactly what the conflict declaration is for.
How much time does it take?
It depends on the project, and you know before you accept. An audit typically needs 15–25 hours spread across four weeks. Monthly advisory work is lighter but more regular.
What does it pay?
Agreed per project on scope and hours, settled before work begins. We do not pay a percentage of the contract value, because that would create an incentive to tell the client to buy more.
I have under ten years but I am deep in one area. Should I apply?
Yes. Ten years is a preference, not a barrier. If you have carried a real budget in a narrow area, the written answer matters more than the number of years.
What if I do not want to be named publicly?
That is fine, but then you only take internal work. MWY will not put an anonymous expert behind a recommendation sent to a CEO — the client is entitled to know who is advising them.
Do you accept people based outside Vietnam?
Yes, if your experience transfers to this market. Most of the work is done online.
